The Positive Psychology Centre comprises of a team of highly skilled practitioners including our consultant psychiatrist and psychologists with diverse backgrounds in Clinical Psychology, Child and Family Psychology, Counselling Psychology, Clinical Neuropsychology, Forensic Psychology and Organisational Psychology. Linda Kollind

 

Linda has experience in working with children and adults with a range of difficulties, such as parenting (e.g. challenging behaviour), anxiety, depression, autism and trauma.  Linda has a client centered approach and uses an eclectic approach, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy,( CBT) and Psychodynamic Therapy. She is experienced in administering a range of Educational and Cognitive assessments to children (+3 years), adolescents and adults. These assessments can have a range of benefitsincluding more individualised treatment planning as well as understanding underlying issues for e.g. learning/attention difficulties.  Linda has completed a Master of Psychology (Education and Development) at the Australian Catholic University.

Janine Petrass

 

Janine Petrass is a Clinical Psychologist who uses a collaborative, empathic, and respectful approach to treating a wide variety of issues using evidence-based therapies such as ACT, CBT, DBT, and Mindfulness techniques with adults of all ages. Janine previously worked at Peninsula Health in a variety of roles including longer term Recovery work, Acute (CATT team), and DBT as both group facilitator and individual therapist.

Carol Craigie

 

Carol has a background in social work and counselling within a variety of community settings. She is experienced in helping adults, adolescents and children in dealing with a range of emotional issues including anxiety, depression, stress, grief and loss, school issues, addictions, trauma, and relationship issues.   Her training and experience draws upon a range of evidence-based therapies and techniques in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, Child-Centred Play therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Mindfulness Meditation. Carol is a professional member of the Australian Psychological Society. Carol’s clients describe her as caring, understanding and engaging. Carol is a registered psychologist, having completed a Masters of Counselling Psychology at Monash University.

Dr Vasilis Stavropoulos

 

Vasilis is a clinically trained psychologist, with over 10 years of experience in therapy and research.  He has worked with adults, adolescents and children within the framework of various agencies such as drug rehabilitation units, a psychiatric hospital, child care departments, youth justice settings and private practice. He is trained in Systemic and Cognitive-Behavioural psychotherapeutic approaches.

Vasilis applies evidence based techniques to a range of disorders and relationship problems and he specialises in the treatment of problematic internet use among adults and adolescents.

Ari Patrikis

 

Ari has been a registered psychologist since 2003 and joined our team at Positive Psychology in 2008. He holds specialist endorsement with the APS College of Counselling Psychologists. Ari specialises in Child, Adolescent and Family Psychology. He has a special interest in the assessment and treatment of  Anxiety and Mood disorders, Dual Diagnosis and Adjustment and Transitional Stress in Adult populations.

 

Ari has worked in a variety of settings including Private Practice, Community and Clinical Services, Government Organisations, and in the management of Not for Profit Organisations. A majority of this work focused on psychological treatment and intensive support delivery to complex care and dual diagnosis clients.

Dr Kimberly O'Keefe

 

Dr Kimberly O’Keefe is a Doctor of Clinical Psychology who practices privately at Positive Psychology in Mornington and Frankston. Dr O’Keefe provides diagnostic assessment and evidence-based psychological treatment for adolescents and adults. Focused psychological assessments include, psychological, behavioural, social and emotional adjustment as well as personality testing. Her practice involves comprehensive assessment and formulation of psychological reports for specialised settings including court reports, legal proceedings, educational settings, Centrelink, WorkCover, TAC and other treating professionals. Maria Cassar

 

Maria's Post Graduate Studies were in Child and Adolescent Psychology, during which time she worked and then managed a residential youth hostel where she was responsible for supervision, training and overseeing the operational aspects of the unit. She then began therapy and assessment of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder under the supervision of Pamela Langford while employed as youth counsellor at the Frankston Youth Resource Centre, where she also had the opportunity to work with families and establish relationships with Dhs, the education department, cahms and general practitioners.

Steven Kent

 

Stevn has worked for several months with a forensic population at the Marngoneet Correctional Centre - working largely with mood and anxiety related disorders, at the same time running a grief and loss group. In addition to the work at MCC, he has spent several months working with the Adult Outpatient Programme at the Albert Road Clinic. During this time, he was involved in the implementation of Dialectical Behaviour Therapy with a population consisting largely of Borderline Personality Disorder cases.

Miriam Brookens

 

Miriam Brookens is a psychologist whose qualifications allow her to work in both a Clinical and Forensic field of psychology.  Miriam’s work history has allowed her to work with a wide client base in a variety of different settings.  She has worked within the prison system, psychiatric hospital setting as well as private practice.  Miriam has worked with victim’s of crime, as well as offender rehabilitation (including but not limited to substance abuse and sexual offending as well as court ordered psychological treatment).  Miriam has provided over 400 assessments and reports in criminal cases over her career and  specializes in court assessments and reports.  She accepts both private paying and Legal Aid clients.  

 

 Her work within private practice and clinical populations includes work with adult individuals suffering from mood disorders (such as, but not limited to, anxiety, depression, post traumatic stress disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, bipolar disorder) and personality disorders. Miriam practices Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. She is a registered Medicare Provider and is also registered with the Victim’s of Crime Tribunal (VoCAT) and ATAPS Programs.

Dr Nicole Papadopoulos

 

Nicole has completed her Masters of Clinical Psychology (Australian Catholic University) and her PhD in Clinical Psychology (Monash University).  Clinically, Nicole has experience working in private psychiatric hospitals, public mental health settings, government organisations and is currently working as a Research Fellow at Deakin University. Nicole has particular interest in working with primary school aged children who experience developmental difficulties, conducting cognitive/developmental assessments, anxiety disorders, mood disorders, teenage and young adult relationship issues, and working with the Greek community. Nicole speaks fluent Greek and draws on a number of therapeutic approaches, which include Cognitive Behavioural therapy, Acceptance Commitment Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Interpersonal/Person Centered therapy and Solution-focused therapy.

Lena Papadopoulos

 

Lena is a clinical psychologist with over 16 years of clinical experience with adults, children and adolescents.  Her areas of practice include treatment of anxiety and mood disorders, trauma (including sexual abuse of children), grief and loss, sexual anxieties and relationship issues.  Lena's approach to psychotherapy is integrative, drawing upon psychodynamic psychotherapy, CBT (including mindfulness), existential psychology and interpersonal psychotherapy.

Lena is also a registered supervisor of post graduate psychology students and has previously lectured in the Master of Counselling and Psychotherapy course at the Cairnmillar Institute.  Lena offers clinical services in Greek.

Catherine Caballero

 

Catherine holds a Masters degree in Organisational Psychology. She has experience working
in organisational settings and has a strong background in research, marketing and
management. Cathy is experienced in vocational guidance and personnel selection for

Peter Kyriakoulis

 

Peter Kyriakoulis is a clinical psychologist who specialises in the treatment of depression and anxiety disorders. He completed his undergraduate studies with honours at the University of Athens in 2000, and in 2003 he completed a Masters in Clinical Psychology in Melbourne. Peter uses an integrative approach, combining mindfulness strategies, and positive psychology principles in clinical practice while maintaining a cognitive behavioural framework. He also specialises in psychological assessment of psychopathology and personality difficulties using various personality assessments including the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory (MMPI-2). Peter is currently undertaking a PhD specifically looking at the efficacy of the diving response and biofeedback in treating panic disorder.

Ilan Lohr

 

Ilan Lohr (Clinical Psycholgist) practices predominantly evidence-based therapies such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. His clinical work has included working mostly with adults but also children in a variety of medical, clinical and academic settings. He has worked with diverse clientele and psychological disorders including mood disorders, anxiety disorders, alcoholism and substance abuse, sleep disorders, relationship and marital problems, learning and behavioural difficulties, and clients on forensic orders.
